Lactation Support


Karissa has supported hundreds of Mothers and Babies in their breastfeeding journeys. She believes in collaborating with Parents, and care plans are customized to identify individual needs and goals. Breastfeeding is an art. Her gentle approach to counseling develops better understanding of baby, generates a sense of empowerment within the Mother, and enhances the enjoyment of the breastfeeding experience.

In Home Consultation
Karissa offers breastfeeding support within the comfort of a Family's home. A consult takes approximately 90 minutes. Extensive notes and customized careplans are furnished to parents and to respective Health Care Providers upon request. Karissa does not bill insurance; however, the invoice given upon receipt of payment can be used to request reimbursement. Karissa offers support in Western Wake with additional travel charges outside of this area. 
Initial consults are $175 and additional in person follow up appointments are $125.

    Clinic Consultations and Classes for Patients


    Karissa practices at Cary Pediatric Center. She serves the patients of Cary, Apex and Fuquay-Varina Pediatrics. Appointments are scheduled for one hour. Insurance is filed through Cary Pediatric Center.     About the Consultations
    • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment. For those new to lactation clinic
    • If your baby needs to eat, feed him or her! Don't wait for Karissa. Your baby's needs are #1!
    • Don't hesitate to ask questions- all are important, so if you have many, bring a list.
    • Please bring all the items that you use when nursing, pumping and to care for yourself. This includes pillows, shields, creams, pumps and any other items that you use regularly.
    • If you have a support person available to attend, please invite them to join us if you feel comfortable.
